Endoscopy Procedures

Here in Milton Keynes, we offer the broadest range of endoscopic procedures of the gastrointestinal tract. This includes diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of the upper or lower GI tract (gastroscopy, colonoscopy and Flexible sigmoidoscopy) and respiratory tract (bronchoscopy and EBUS)

In addition, we have a small bowel capsule service, we perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and therapeutic endoscopy of the bile ducts and pancreas (ERCP).

We have a large and experienced workforce, many of whom have been delivering endoscopy for more than 10 years. Endoscopy is performed by doctors, both medical and surgical, and specially trained nurses (nurse endoscopists).

All endoscopists have met the criteria set by the UK national endoscopy body JAG (Joint Advisory Group for Endoscopy) and Milton Keynes Endoscopy service has been fully accredited by JAG.

Treatment of gastric and oesophageal varices
Gastroduodenal and colonic balloon dilatation
Oesophageal stent insertion, pyloric and duodenal stent and colonic stent insertion
Treatment of acute gastrointestinal haemorrhage
Thermal therapy for vascular malformations
Gastrostomy (PEG) and feeding tube insertions
Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) of gastric and colonic lesions
Therapeutic EUS and FNA (Fine needle Aspiration)
Endoscopic Retrograde cholangio-pancreatoscopy (ERCP)
