MKUH Charity

Milton Keynes Hospital Charity is the charity for Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) – charity no. 1048297.

We’re here to help enhance the patient and family experience, making a difference through fundraising, volunteering, and developing projects with MKUH staff.

Projects we work on can range from rolling out extra special medical equipment – like vein finding machines, teaching skeletons, and Virtual Reality headsets – to transforming clinical hospital environments into wonderfully warm and welcoming places to be.

None of what we do could be achieved without the fantastic support of people from in and around Milton Keynes. Thanks to them, we’re able to fund many crucial projects and tangible items, like these, that are over and beyond what the NHS provides. Fundraising makes a huge difference and has helped change the lives of thousands of patients, their families, and staff at the hospital.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported and continues to support our charity – it means the world.

Meet the team

Vanessa Holmes – Associate Director, Charity

I’m Vanessa and I’m head of the charity at MKUH. I’ve worked at the hospital since January 2011, leading the development and delivery of our strategy. I love connecting people to our hospital and the charity, and networking with others to help them make a difference.

Kelly Errington – Community & Events Fundraiser

I’m Kelly and it gives me a great sense of pride to be able to work with some amazing individuals and groups within the Milton Keynes community who choose to support their local hospital. It’s a privilege to see first-hand the impact that community fundraising has on patients, their families, and staff at MKUH.

Jodie Fardoe – Individual Giving & Marketing Lead

I’m Jodie and I joined the Milton Keynes Hospital Charity team in 2023. I’m here to build lasting relationships with the very special individuals who kindly wish to support their local hospital, as well as lead on the charity’s digital and marketing plans. I feel very lucky to work for a charity that’s making a huge difference for patients, families, and staff here at the hospital.

Our extended team

The Voluntary Services team at MKUH is made up of Sarah Woodfield, Alison Wakley, and Lauren Handley. They do an amazing job of recruiting and looking after our incredible army of hospital volunteers. Naturally, they’re also part of the wider Milton Keynes Hospital Charity team.
