Pelvic Health

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy includes treatment for many conditions involving the pelvis and pelvic floor. We are specialist physiotherapy practitioners who have specific postgraduate training for the assessment and treatment of these conditions.

Pregnancy, childbirth and menopause often affect the muscles and joints of this area, causing dysfunction. This can become a problem at any age during a person’s life. Many people will have been told these symptoms are normal, however they can often be improved with simple treatment and lifestyle changes. Pelvic floor issues can also occur due to issues related to the prostate, including prostate cancer.

Conditions we regularly treat include:

  • Urinary urgency and leakage
  • Bowel Urgency and leakage
  • Constipation
  • Prolapse
  • Pregnancy related Pelvic girdle pain
  • Diastasis recti
  • Chronic (or longstanding) Pelvic pain
  • Painful or difficult sex (dyspareunia)
  • Prostatectomy
