Breast Cancer Nurses
Larraine Andrews
Larraine has 20 years experience as a breast care nurse, starting in North London and has been with the Milton Keynes team since 2005. Prior to this she managed a ward and nursed breast patients. This means that she has cared for them through their whole journey both in the outpatient and ward setting and fostered her keen interest in Breast Cancer treatment. As well as supporting patients through their diagnosis and subsequent care, she sees people in the family history clinic who have a high chance of carrying one of the breast cancer genes and advises regarding genetic testing if appropriate. She and Sister Lisa Lynch also see patients in a follow up clinic alongside the surgical team.
Sarah Lawrence
Sarah comes from a hospital surgical and high dependency nursing background, before training as a breast advanced diagnostic practitioner on the Kingston and Royal Marsden Hospital courses. She has a special interest in breast pain and family history of breast cancer and sees patients in dedicated clinics for these. She also works as part of the diagnostic breast team in the symptomatic one stop clinic, and provides support to radiologists in the screening assessment clinic. She is passionate about breast awareness and health promotion and participates in events around the local community.
She loves to travel and is currently training as a reflexologist and hopes to provide this service to the Milton Keynes cancer patients in the new cancer centre.
