League of Friends

We have been working in Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) since 1979, when we founded the League of Friends of Milton Keynes Hospital.

At first, we ran the kiosk and then we established a League of Friends shop in the main entrance of the hospital. In July 1999, we extended our work into the community of Milton Keynes.

We have raised over £1,350,000 for MKUH to fund a range of projects. All profits are channeled back into buying medical and non-medical equipment for the hospital.

The money raised has help fund:

  • Wheelchairs for main reception and A&E
  • Relative rooms in Oncology and A&E
  • Corridor and A&E seating
  • Toiletry packs for A&E, Ward 23 and Ward 7
  • Christmas donations to all wards and departments

Our shop and ward trolleys are run by members of staff together with a dedicated force of volunteers. The support of our volunteers is greatly valued and appreciated.

If you would like to make a donation, please make your check payable to ‘Friends of Milton Keynes Hospital & Community’. Send to the address below or drop it into the shop.

If you’re interested in volunteering for the League of Friends, let us know! You can contact us by calling 01908 995 960 or writing to the address below.
