NNU Patient Stories – Raha

“Our baby girl, Raha, was born at 32+2 weeks and 1.02 kgs birth weight at MKUH NNU. She had no other issues except for being very little and underweight.

We were at the unit for 33 days because of a very low birth weight baby. However, our experience with baby growth and response to feeding went very smoothly with the doctors and nurses available to always help. Raha was the perfect newborn for us as she was our first and we didn’t know how babies would be otherwise.

The team and facilities always made us feel that we were held very tightly in right hands with no room for error. We were constantly given support to deal with the ongoing situation, as well as valuable lessons which, as a new mother, I have taken with me for life. These were tips and suggestions from nurses who had decades of experience working with babies.

The most valuable thing for me was that we were heard, our suggestions and opinions really mattered.”
