NNU Patient Stories – Joshua
“We had a complicated pregnancy but didn’t know Joshua would be born prematurely at 28+3 weighing 2lb 8oz.
Joshua’s NNU stay was 113 days long, with his main issue being Chronic Lung Disease (CLD) and needing oxygen for a long time.
Some weeks, it felt like he was making huge progress and then we’d have a set back, but he got there in the end. He also had a hernia operation at Oxford NICU prior to his discharge.
He was 44+4 weeks when he was discharged home. He’s progressing really well now physically and developmentally, bar a few hospital admissions associated with his CLD during the winter months. We are so proud of our little superhero!”
