Tuberculosis Team raises awareness at community centre
Milton Keynes University Hospital’s Tuberculosis (TB) Team visited a community centre to promote TB awareness and share vital health information with the public.
The event, held on Wednesday 6 November at West Bletchley Community Centre, included advice on TB prevention, symptoms, and treatment options, highlighting the importance of early detection and care for effective recovery.
Through engaging discussions and informative materials, attendees gained a better understanding of TB and the resources available locally for testing and treatment. The event underscored the hospital’s commitment to supporting the community in tackling this preventable and treatable disease.
A spokesperson from the MK TB Nursing team said: “Raising awareness about tuberculosis is crucial in breaking down stigma and encouraging people to seek help early. We’re here to make sure everyone in the community feels supported in staying healthy and well-informed about TB.”
The event was part of the Bletchley Get-Together series of events, organised under the Bletchley Pathfinder pilot, a multi-agency initiative aimed at improving the ways our health and care services work together. The Milton Keynes Health and Care Partnership plan to use the learning from the Bletchley Pathfinder to develop new ways of working across the city.
