Your pregnancy journey

During your pregnancy, you will be offered regular appointments with your healthcare team. They check that you and your baby are well and provide support and information about your pregnancy to help you make informed choices. How often these are varies and the frequency may need to be adjusted if your circumstances change.

When you need to make a decision about your care, the law says that your doctor or midwife should give you the information you need to help make a decision that is right for you. This is informed consent. For more information, click on the box below ‘Decision making for pregnancy and birth’.
