Waiting times – Patient information (May 2023)

Date: 26/05/2023

Updated: May 2023

Waiting times for patients have increased across the NHS and here at MKUH we are working hard to bring those waiting times down – making sure all patients are reviewed and seen as quickly as possible.

Teams across the hospital are continually reviewing waiting lists and are working tirelessly to bring appointments forward where possible. Patients are seen and treated in order of clinical priority and we keep in regular contact with all those on our waiting lists.

For transparency and convenience, waiting times for all of our services are available on our website.

To enable us to give patients the best care as quickly as possible, it is very important that patients attend their hospital appointment once notified. If you know you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible by calling the phone number on your appointment letter. By letting us know early, we will then work hard to offer that slot to another patient waiting for treatment.

Patients in Milton Keynes are further able to sign up to our MyCare Patient Portal to allow them to have more control over their care and find an appointment that works for them – more details can be found here.

We appreciate your ongoing patience at this time and advise that if you have any concerns about your current symptoms to speak to your GP in the first instance. If you are concerned about your care or believe you have been waiting longer than you should have for your treatment, please let us know by contacting our Patient Advice and Liaison Service.
