Transformation of Paediatrics garden at MKUH

Date: 16/10/2024

The paediatric wards garden (Ward 4 and 5) at MKUH has been transformed thanks to support from the local community.

The refurbished garden was opened this week (15th October) with a small event, attended by Chair of MKUH Heidi Travis, Chief Nursing Officer Fiona Hoskins and Mayor of Milton Keynes Councillor Marie Bradburn. The work involved improving drainage – ensuring the garden can be used all year round – and installing new seating areas for parents to play with their children. The area has further benefited from the addition of artificial grass, making it a more user-friendly space for children.

This was all possible thanks to the support of Luke Timberlake, who raised vital funds for the refurbishment of the garden and the team from Golden Gardens, a local supplier who completed all of the work and donated significant funds to ensure the project was finished to a high standard.

Thank you to all involved who have helped make this a fantastic space for children at the hospital.
