Temporary Evacuation of Emergency Department – 12th February
As a precautionary measure, this morning (Monday February 12) the Trust evacuated our Emergency Department after a member of staff identified a smell of smoke. All staff and patients were safely moved out of the area. Two fire engines attended the site and carried out a full safety assessment, along with our Estates teams. They were satisfied that the area was safe, with no issues found.
Staff and patients returned to the Emergency Department shortly after the evacuations. We would like to thank the fire service for their swift and thorough response.
