Patient Experience Week – 29 April – 3 May
Patient Experience Week, or Experience of Care Week, is an internationally recognised week to raise awareness about the importance of good patient experience. To showcase some of the work we are doing at MKUH, as well as invite patients to provide their feedback on our services, our Patient and Family Experience team will be holding a series of events between Monday 29 April and Friday 3 May.
The theme for events this year is the ‘Patient Experience Team Goes on Tour’. This supports the recent work we have been doing to engage with families, community groups and organisations and others to build close relationships with our communities. The events that have been scheduled are as follows:
- Monday 29th: Visiting wards and departments to raise awareness of the importance of patient experience.
- Tuesday 30th: A visit to the MS Society in Milton Keynes
- Wednesday 1st: A visit to MK College
- Thursday 2nd: A visit to Shenley Retirement Village
- Friday 3rd: ‘Band in a Van’ event for patients and staff in the marquee
Our very own MK Hospital Charity have kindly sourced funding for two one hour long sessions with the Band in a Van who will be performing in the marquee (by the restaurant) on Friday 3rd. There will be an opportunity for patients, and staff, to get involved by singing along, taking part in the percussion or even conducting the group! Or you can simply come along to enjoy the music. The sessions will take place from 10.30am – 11.30am and 2.30pm – 3.30pm.
Please do join in with the events throughout the week and encourage your patients and colleagues to come down to the marquee on Friday.
