MKUH Celebrates 800th Robotic Surgery Case
Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) has now achieved a milestone of 800 cases using the CMR Versius Surgical Robotic System.
The 800th case, completed on 9th August, highlights the importance that robotic technology plays in surgery, supporting our fantastic surgeons to deliver better and safer outcomes for patients.
The robot – first introduced in November 2019 – is used across a range of procedures including colorectal, gynaecology, general surgery, upper GI surgery and urology. The cutting-edge technology ensures faster recovery times for patients, allowing them to return home sooner.
The Trust has since introduction a second robot which is now operational in our theatres. Through the implementation of the second robot, this will allow us to see and treat more of our patients, improving patient access to treatment and reducing waiting times for surgery.
