Maxillofacial and Orthodontic teams win a gold award for sustainability!
The Maxillofacial and Orthodontic team are pleased to share their efforts to improve sustainability and champion sustainable dentistry. They took part in a Green Impact Dentistry programme delivered by SOS-UK and achieved a gold award.
This means that the team have completed multiple actions that address sustainability issues around education, engagement, health and wellbeing and many more.
Green Impact, developed by the Charity Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS UK), is a sustainability accreditation scheme with an audit and awards element. It runs in many different sectors, including dentistry. Through Green Impact, dental practices can access support, and can choose to work towards a bronze, silver or gold level accreditation, evidencing their commitment to being a responsible healthcare business.
As MKUH continues to support Green Plan initiatives, the department will be continuing its efforts to further reduce our impact on the environment going forward.
The programme who was led by Danielle White, Senior Specialist Dental Nurse, said “I was so pleased and proud to have won a gold award. It was great to see all our team pull together to achieve this”.
