Encouraging feedback from our youngest patients
Over the last 18 months, the Trust has successfully enabled our patients over the age of 18 to submit their Friends and Family Test (FFT) feedback via their mobile device. Unfortunately this service is not available for our paediatric patients and as such, our Patient Experience Team has been working hard to develop an alternative solution to make it easy for children and young people to provide their feedback on their care and experience.
We have created new paper forms that will be available to patients in the Paediatric Emergency Department (PED) and Wards 4 and 5. In PED, we have developed an FFT display board, with forms available to be completed as well as a link to the online version of the survey. In the wards, large QR codes have been added to the bedside which provide a direct link to an online version of the survey.
It is hoped that the refreshed forms, both paper-based and online, will increase the feedback that we received, enabling us to better understand the things that we are doing well as well as the areas where we can improve.
