CQC inspection of maternity services – 8-9 March 2023
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) will be visiting the hospital site to carry out an inspection of maternity services on Wednesday, 8 March and Thursday, 9 March 2023.
This is part of a national programme of maternity inspections, aiming to inspect all maternity services in the country before the end of April 2023.
The inspectors will focus on the inspection domains of safe and well led, meaning they will look particularly at the safe provision of care in our maternity services, and the governance and leadership of the service. As part of the inspection, the team will talk to staff and patients and will also engage with community groups such as the Maternity Voices Partnership MK and with patients who received care in the service during 2022.
At the end of the inspection, evidence gathering and analysis, the CQC will issue the Trust with a report and gradings for the safe and well led domains in maternity services.
CQC inspectors will be identifiable with their own identification as well as a hospital issued lanyard. The CQC can lawfully access notes and documents as part of their inspection work and will discuss this directly with our staff.
