Baroness Margaret Wall of New Barnet
It is with great sadness that Milton Keynes University Hospital announces the death of its chairman, Baroness Margaret Wall of New Barnet.
Baroness Margaret Wall joined the Trust in July 2014 as chairman of the Board of Directors and Council of Governors.
Paying tribute to Baroness Wall, Chief Executive of MKUH Joe Harrison, said: “Margaret was an extraordinary chairman; a passionate supporter of the NHS; a fierce advocate for patients; and a warm, generous, effervescent presence known and loved throughout the hospital.
“We were immensely privileged to have had her leadership, her loyal support and commitment, and her zest and zeal for our hospital.
“Margaret was held in exceptionally high regard and great affection by everyone who worked with her and her loss will be keenly felt. It was an honour and a pleasure to have known and worked with Margaret. She will be deeply missed.”
Baroness Wall died on Wednesday, 25 January. Deputy Chairman Simon Lloyd will assume the role of Acting Chairman of MKUH with immediate effect.
