#TeamMKUH
What is TeamMKUH?
At Milton Keynes University Hospital, we are committed to supporting the development of our team and allowing them to be the driving force behind everything that we do. TeamMKUH represents all colleagues across our hospital and is our way of demonstrating our commitment and dedication to the individuals that make up our organisation.
There are a number of ways in which we provide colleagues with the opportunity to have their voice heard and show our appreciation for all the work that they do. Some of these are outlined below:
TeamMKUH Expo
In May 2017, we launched the Event in the Tent – our biggest ever internal engagement event for colleagues, providing them with a platform for sharing ideas and building up relationships from across the Trust, developing new initiatives and challenging our ways of working so that we continue to provide an excellent level of service for our patients.
The event has since evolved into what we now call the TeamMKUH Expo. Much like Event in the Tent, Expo feature a series of in-person sessions, each dedicated to different themes aligned with our organisational strategy: people, digital, and estate developments.
TeamMKUH Awards
The annual TeamMKUH Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the incredible people who work for us – the people who deliver excellent patient care with compassion, skill, and innovation.
Nominations for the 2025 TeamMKUH Awards are now open! Please take a few minutes to nominate a member of staff, team, or volunteer who has made a real difference to your experience as a patient, relative, or friend.

Nominations close at 23:59 on Friday 28 March 2025.
GREATix – Learning from what went well
GREATix was introduced in the Trust in October 2017 and provides a platform where our colleagues can report the good things they are doing, including any innovations, ideas, and positive change happening in their area.
All colleagues are able to put forward the work of others if they believe this is an opportunity that we can share.
We want to harness these positive experiences – to learn from our colleagues and foster an environment where excellent is recognised and celebrated, and used to improve how we look after our patients and our team.
Staff Networks
Our staff networks will support a fairer and more diverse MKUH for everyone. They will:
- tackle issues for underrepresented and disadvantaged groups and individuals
- offer a place to come together, share experiences and facilitate learning and development
- help shape and deliver our organisational strategy and policy
- improve the staff experience on specific issues relating to each network.
