Carers MK

Carers MK exists to support unpaid carers over the age of 8 who are looking after someone who could not manage without them because of illness, disability, mental health, frailty or additional need.  We support carers from all backgrounds, and from a wide range of circumstances.  Carers do not always live with the person they look after and are not always related to them either.

Carers MK has a dedicated Hospital Support Worker at MKUH who support both staff carers and patients’ carers within the hospital setting. We are currently working from home and occasionally on site, liaising closely with NHS staff and social care teams.

We offer telephone information, advice and emotional support, signposting to a wide variety of practical support, also advising on the full range of carer issues. Even after hospital discharge, once a carer is registered with us, Carers MK will continue to support them through each phase of their caring role, however long it may last.
