World Tuberculosis Day 2023

Date: 10/03/2023

Each year we commemorate World TB Day on March 24th to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of tuberculosis (TB) and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic.

The date marks the day in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced that he had discovered the bacterium that causes TB, which opened the way towards diagnosing and curing the disease.

The Stop TB Partnership are championing this year as a year of hope with the theme ‘Yes! We can end TB!’, bringing attention to TB and our collective power to end TB by 2030.

To mark the day, our TB team will be hosting a stand in the main entrance of the hospital and outside the Eaglestone Restaurant on Friday 24th March, sharing useful information and resources. There will also be a quiz with a chance to win a prize!

Come along and get involved. Together, we can end TB and save lives. #YesWeCanEndTB
