My Thank You
A little thank you goes a long way…
Patients and visitors can send personal messages of gratitude to #TeamMKUH staff members who have made their day – thanks to a new initiative launched by Milton Keynes Hospital Charity in June 2024.
We all know a few kind words, or a simple ‘thank you’, can make such a big difference to our day. It’s a real morale booster.
That’s why we’ve introduced the ‘My Thank You’ app at MKUH.
You’ll find posters, postcards, and banners around the hospital promoting ‘My Thank You’ – you can see some examples below featuring Medical Student, Sarah Fabyan.
We also have wonderful volunteers across various wards and departments signposting to the platform, demonstrating how it works.
How do patients, families, and carers send a My Thank You message?
- The easiest and free way for patients and families to leave their personal thank you messages for a staff member at MKUH is here
- They can scan the QR code on their phone which takes them to the same link (https://mkhc.mythankyou.org/)
- They can text THANKS MKUH to 84901 and they’ll be sent a link (please bear in mind they’ll be charged one message at their standard network rate if they choose the text option).
Beyond the thank you
We know many patients and their loved ones like to give something back by way of a donation, to show their gratitude for a staff member or team.
With this in mind, we’ve added the option to make a donation on ‘My Thank You’ once they’ve sent their personal message. Their kind contributions will go where the need is greatest at the hospital.
Vanessa, Associate Director of Milton Keynes Hospital Charity says…
“We recognise the profound effect of receiving appreciation. A few words of thanks really do have the power to lift spirits and boost morale for both frontline workers and those behind the scenes.
“We’re thrilled to introduce ‘My Thank You’, giving people the opportunity to share special words with individuals, teams, or our wonderful volunteers. Staff members can keep these messages to look back on whenever they like, or even add to staff noticeboards.
“As the hospital’s charity, we support all wards and departments through charitable donations. While it’s optional, people can make monetary contributions using ‘My Thank You’ to further amplify the impact of their appreciation.”
