Long Service at MKUH – Veronica

In the lead up to Milton Keynes University Hospital’s annual Long Service Awards, we wanted to highlight some of the fantastic members of #TeamMKUH who have shown great support, dedication and enthusiasm for developing the Trust over the course of their careers.

Veronica joined MKUH in 1979 as a Basic Grade Radiographer and went on to become a Superintendent Sonographer; which she still enjoys now, 40 years later.

Throughout her career, Veronica has seen many changes to MKUH. This includes the number of Ultrasound machines within the Trust for Imaging use. When she first started here, the department got by with only a single machine that was bought by the public of Milton Keynes. There are now at least 18 ultrasound machines across the Imaging department, of which nine are for Obstetrics and Gynaecology use.

Veronica believes MKUH is a great place to work in Imaging, stating the the GE E10 ultrasound machines are “operator friendly whilst also producing excellent images”. The IT and PACS support is also excellent. Viewpoint 6 was introduced in March 2022 which has great benefits to how a Sonographer works and reports, making the experience better for staff and patients too.

Thank you to Veronica for all your hard work over the last 40 years! If you are interested in becoming a part of #TeamMKUH, please visit our vacancies page here.
