Mr Dawar Abbas
Mr Abbas undertook his basic medical qualification followed by Specialist Orthopaedic training (Master of Surgery) at Aligarh Muslim University in India in 1993. He joined NHS in 1997 and worked in West Midlands and Bournemouth before Joining Milton Keynes University Hospital in 2000.
He completed AO Fellowship in 2008 at famous University Medical Centre in Kiel, Germany.
He played crucial role in establishing hip fracture Services at Milton Keynes Hospital in 2008 and was lead for these services till 2013. He was also appointed as SAS Doctors Tutor in the Oxford deanery representing MKUH and MKPCT from 2010 to 2015.
Mr Abbas takes keen interest in teaching of undergraduate medical students of UBMS and is a recognised trainer for higher surgical trainees in Trauma/Orthopaedics. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Education from University of Bedfordshire and has delivered several overseas lectures.
He is specialist medical reviewer with Bone and Joint Journal, Bone and Joint Research and JBJS.
Mr Abbas undertakes wide variety of Orthopaedic Trauma surgical procedures as well as hip and knee arthroplasty and knee arthroscopic surgery.
He is a member of the General Medical Council, British Medical Association (BMA) and British Islamic Medical Association (BIMA).
