Miss Rachel Soulsby

In 1998 I qualified from the University of London, but completed most of my training in Leicester region. Leicester is the biggest breast unit in the country and allowed me to gain experience in managing a wide range of experience of breast disease. I also gained experience in a lot of different surgical techniques, which is useful in counselling and performing surgery.

In 2016 I joined Milton Keynes and have been supported by the team in developing a wider range of reconstructive and breast preserving surgery. I have an interest in pain after breast surgery, and have completed my MD in pain management. I believe very strongly in education and have arranged regular team teaching sessions and have arranged the Thames Oncoplastic Surgeons meeting, where breast surgeons from the region discuss the management of complex cases. I have also taught on the Royal College of Surgeons course for Speciality Skills in Breast.

I do a lot of work with the University of Buckingham, and am one of the simulation leads for the hospital. Recently I have been appointed as lead for the Oxford region to promote breast surgery research trials.
