Patient Lifestyle Factors
- Increased exercise (relative to usual)
- Irregular lifestyle
- Alcohol
- Increasing age
- Early pregnancy
- Breast feeding
- Inadequate glucose monitoring
- Anorexia/poor appetite/interruption of enteral feeding
- Reduced carbohydrate intake/absorption
- Irregular meals
- Food malabsorption (eg coeliac disease, exocrine pancreatic dysfunction)
- Post bowel resection surgery
- Reduced steroids without concurrent reduction in diabetes therapies
