Domestic Abuse Advocacy

Here at MKUH, we look to empower victims of domestic abuse to find their way out of harmful situations. We understand the complexities of domestic abuse and seek to support and educate everyone on the devastating impacts domestic abuse has.

Milton Keynes University Hospital has welcomed our new Domestic Abuse Advisor, Donna.  She has joined the Trust to advocate for and improve the safety of people at high risk of harm from intimate partners, ex-partners or family members. Donna will not only be an additional resource to protect and support patients, but staff too.

Donna will be providing short awareness training courses for staff as well as carrying out individual risk assessments for staff and patients alike.  If you would like to find out more, you can email Donna directly on [email protected].

The service is free and confidential. Service users can self-refer or, with a service user’s consent, via another organisation, friends or family members. Support is offered on a one-to-one appointment basis or by telephone.

Our Health IDVA, Donna, can work with you to advocate on your behalf to ensure your safety. We are here to advise you what your rights and options are. We are a confidential service, and work alongside other agencies to ensure your voice is heard.

You can contact Donna on 07827 358 725 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 0900 – 1700hrs.
