You said, we did.

Your feedback enables us to make improvements to the care we provide to our patients and families.

Please find below some of the changes we have made as a result of your feedback.

  • You told us that by raising a complaint you wanted to ensure your experience was used to improve care for patients in the future.

We video recorded a complainant’s experience, and use it in current and future preceptorship training days for our nursing staff.

  • Feedback received via our complaint process told us that there were some issues within Community Midwifery regarding communication and appointments during March to July 2020.  It was established that these issues were mainly as a result of the Covid -19 pandemic. During these months the community midwives were not able to work from their normal GP Surgeries and had to work from schools and children centres across Milton Keynes. Face to face appointments for booking a pregnancy could not be undertaken and these appointments had to take place over the telephone. Understandably this left women  feeling anxious.

In recognition of feedback received before and during the pandemic, the Community Midwifery team has set up 3 continuity teams across Milton Keynes, this ensures that women will see the same team and midwife throughout their pregnancy. This has proved to be very successful and further plans are in place for 2 more teams to be set up, by the end of November 2020, resulting in a one third of Milton Keynes being covered by a continuity team.
