Please do not attend the Vaccination Hub more than 5 minutes before your stated appointment time to prevent build up of patients in the waiting areas.
If you have had COVID in the last 4 weeks, it is recommended that you recover fully before receiving the vaccination. We therefore will not vaccinate you until 4 weeks after the start of symptoms or a positive test as long as you are well by then.
Please ensure you have had something to eat and drink before attending your vaccination.
Finding the hospital
The hospital is located on Standing Way at the junction of the H8 and V8 on the Milton Keynes grid system. The hospital is signposted from the M1, A5, A421, A422 and the city centre.
If you are using a sat nav, use the postcode MK6 5LD.
Parking is free for all those visiting the site for vaccinations at Milton Keynes University Hospital.
When you enter the site from Standing Way, take the first exit on the roundabout and continue towards the multi-storey car park (Car Park D). Parking will be signposted as ‘Visiting NHS Staff Parking’. All staff, including private sector and local authority staff, should follow these signs.
Enter the multi-storey car park on your left and take a ticket from the barrier before entering. Keep this ticket with you.
Continue to Level 2 of the car park and park in the bays on the first four rows at the front of Level 2 (this will also be signposted ‘Visiting NHS staff’).
Once you arrive, please do not get out of your car until it is nearly time for your appointment. This will help to ensure everyone can effectively social distance in the vaccination hub.
If you require disabled parking, this is available on Level 2 of the multi-storey car park. Please use the marked spaces on either of these levels.
The red route on the map shows the route to the multi-storey car park. The vaccination hub is circled.
Directions to the vaccination hub
Once you exit your vehicle, take the lift or stairs to the ground floor of the car park. Once you exit the car park, turn right along the pavement and head towards the Academic Centre (a large, brown-panelled building).
When you arrive at the Academic Centre, you will be guided to a waiting area.
What to expect
Please have your ID, parking ticket and, if possible, your booking confirmation email with you when you arrive.
When you are ready, you will be called from the waiting room and directed to check-in desks where your details will be recorded. Please ensure you have your NHS number and GP details with you to avoid delay.
Once checked-in, you’ll be directed to a prescribing room before you are called for vaccination.
Don’t know your NHS number? For guidance on your NHS number and how to find it, visit: What is an NHS number? – NHS (www.nhs.uk).
If you have driven, you will be required to wait 15 minutes after your jab. You will be directed to a waiting room to do this, a member of staff will be on hand should you have any questions or need any assistance.
When leaving the Academic Centre you will have the visit the check-out desk which will record the fact you have left the vaccination hub. They will validate your parking ticket for free exit, which you just need to use at the barrier.
